ABOUT
USA MINISTRY
Lauren Wiggins taught in the Connecticut public school system for over 15 years. She received her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University in 2001. She is certified K-6 and has taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades extensively. In addition to teaching, Lauren has coached varsity ice hockey at Branford HS and currently coaches in the Shoreline Sharks hockey organization.
The idea for the USA Ministry was born when it became clear that the public school systems and their teacher unions were supporting and pushing ideas and curriculum that strayed far from the Christian values and morals we believe are needed to nurture our youngest learners growing up in today's society. There were also growing frustrations with the constraints placed upon teachers, students and families and their freedoms and rights being denied. At USA Ministry families choose to put God first and we strive to teach children to live Godly lives as laid out in the Bible.
This program was also born from the words embedded in our Constitution that ALL 'students' are created equal and that ALL students deserve a great education that meets the demands of today’s world. "Hard work, persistence, and perseverance leads to excellence!" is the core belief at USA and of its founder. Through the practice of these core values, along with Christian values, anyone can achieve success, even when faced with adversity.
At USA, we believe parents and educators are a team and should work together to help children grow spiritually, socially and academically. We believe parents have the right to know what goes on in their child's learning and that honest and open dialogue is imperative for strong and trusting relationships between families and educators.
Every child has unique skills and talents, but not every typical classroom highlights each individual’s unique skillset. Here, at USA, our goal is for each individual to be successful and thrive spiritually, socially and academically through hard work, perseverance, and of course, a lot of fun!
When you are accepted into the USA Ministry, which is an unincorporated Christian Ministry serving only member families, you have joined a community of like-minded families wanting nothing but the best for their children. USA will offer your family a complete faith-based academic enrichment program meant to enrich your child both academically and spiritually.
Sincerely,
Lauren Wiggins
Head of Program
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy at USA is that every child is capable of achieving greatness through faith, hard work, perseverance, fortitude and adults who believe and encourage them to pursue their dreams. We believe the obstacles faced along the learning journey are meant to build character and confidence. We also believe learning should be fun! When children enjoy learning, they are eager and excited to want to learn more. Through our Christian-based, interdisciplinary, project-based, experiential learning approach that connects real world scenarios, students will have an easier time gaining new knowledge and skills needed to succeed. At our core are the traditional Christian and American values along with patriotic education that have led so many in our country to achieve greatness.
Mission Statement
Our mission at USA is to help every student reach their full potential by instilling traditional Christian and American values such as hard work, perseverance, and fortitude in order to adapt and succeed in today’s ever-changing world.
